A B Canham & Son is pleased to announce that Site Manager Martin Barth has enjoyed success in the latest round of the prestigious NHBC Pride in the Job awards. His outstanding site management skills at the Boughton Park development in Boughton Monchelsea were, once again, acknowledged by an expert panel of judges.

Having already triumphed with a Pride in the Job Quality Award for his work at the same site earlier in 2021, Martin qualified for the next achievement level up in the NHBC’s industry-recognised awards. In a fiercely-contested and well-populated category, Martin was crowned the overall Regional Winner in the Medium Builder category and took home a Seal of Excellence award for the South East in the process. As a Regional Award winner, Martin now goes forward to compete for the NHBC’s top accolade – the Pride in the Job Supreme Award – with the winners announced in January 2022.

This latest success is a continuation of Martin’s spectacular award-winning form. In 2019, he scooped two Pride in the Job Awards for his work at Boughton Park – winning both the Seal of Excellence and the best Small Housebuilder title within the London & South East region.

“With a skills shortage in the construction sector, we know only too well that finding good Site Managers is an industry-wide challenge. Martin is a real asset to the  A B Canham & Son team, and we are thankful for the continuity and quality he brings,” comments Michael Canham. “Not only do his repeat award wins for the same site show how long-term projects can flourish under the right leadership, Martin’s ongoing success also reflects an unwavering level of loyalty to the company.”

A Pride in the Job award is the most prestigious industry accolade a Site Manager can achieve, and competition gets tougher each year. Organised by NHBC, the UK’s leading warranty and insurance provider for new homes, the awards are the most highly regarded in the house building industry. They recognise Site Managers dedicated to achieving the highest standards in house building and committed to building homes of outstanding quality for their customers.

Judging for the awards is rigorous, with each Site Manager assessed across six key areas: consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise, and health and safety.
